It’s so nice to meet you here. I’m married to my best friend of 10+ years and a mother of twin toddlers. My life is crazy chaotic, but also beautifully blessed. God saved my soul when I was 10 years old, and He’s been showing up every day since in the good and the bad. A few years ago, I found myself in a dark place where my only hope for rescue was Him, and soon after I felt His call to share my story in order to lead others closer to Him. I am currently working on my first book, Is God Telling Me No?, and in the meantime sharing God’s wisdom with you through blogging and socials. So why is my website called “Writing Wisdom”? As long as I’ve been able to hold a pencil, I have loved to write. While other students were doodling pictures in the margins of their notebooks, I was filling mine with words. I always kept a journal to fill with my thoughts, desires, favorite quotes or song lyrics, and as I got older, my teenage rants (sorry mom!). When I became a math teacher, I wanted to share this love of words, so every morning I would write a “Quote of the Day” on the board. A few years ago, I also picked up the hobby of lettering to up my writing game, as you’ll see on my Instagram. Combining all of this, my long-time passion for the power of the written word continues to fuel my writing today. In addition to my love for writing, I have also been slightly obsessed with the concept of wisdom for most of my life, particularly Godly wisdom. I remember learning about King Solomon in Sunday School and how God told him to ask for whatever he wanted and Solomon chose discernment (1 Kings 3:5-15). God was so pleased that he granted Solomon “a wise and discerning heart” in addition to wealth and honor - things Solomon didn’t ask for, but any typical man would. This story always stuck out to me, and led to me asking God for wisdom and discernment in my prayers as well. I even chose a verse about wisdom as my senior quote in high school: “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting, get understanding” (Proverbs 4:7, KJV). As I have grown and experienced many trials, however, I have learned that in order to fuel this wisdom, I have to regularly participate in my relationship with God. I faltered in this practice for many years, so when I found myself in a very difficult season, I wasn’t prepared. Rather than choosing to rest in the goodness of God, I instead found myself constantly asking, “Why me? Why can’t I have what I want?” My mission as a Christian author is to help equip my reader with the tools she needs to build her relationship with God so that she can confidently walk into every new trial and season of life, regardless of what it might hold. Whether she is a new Christian, wanting to learn about Christianity, or a seasoned follower, I hope to offer insight into building a strong relationship with God through the power of His Word. My daily prayer is for God to grant me a discerning heart to relay His wisdom in my writing. Thank you for being here, friend.
